LANSING – Michigan Corn Growers Association (MCGA) President Matt Frostic today applauded the U.S. Senate’s bipartisan approval of the United States-Mexico-Canada Agreement (USMCA) and thanked Michigan’s Senators for their support. Frostic made the following statement:

“Since work began on the new U.S. Mexico Canada Agreement, this trade deal has been one of the top legislative priorities for MCGA. Our members have been engaged every step of the way in making sure that our Senators and members of Congress knew how important this agreement was for Michigan agriculture. We are proud to see these efforts pay off with a strong, bipartisan vote.

“We are optimistic that this agreement will provide some much-needed stability to our farm economy and help pave the way for future trade agreements. Mexico and Canada are our closest trading partners and top markets for U.S. corn and ethanol. Passing USMCA means that Michigan growers can continue to benefit from those trade relationships and we want to thank our Senators for their support in getting this agreement across the finish line.”
