The Michigan Corn Growers Association (MCGA) announced the winners of the election for board of directors during the organization’s annual meeting yesterday. The following growers were elected to serve three-year terms:

  • District 1: Jake Zwagerman (Fountain)
  • District 2: Jed Welder (Sheridan)
  • District 4: Erik Krieger (Belding)
  • District 5: Mike Opificius (Capac)
  • District 7: Adam Blonde (Litchfield)
  • At-Large: Russell Braun (Ovid)

MCGA President John Delmotte also recognized outgoing board members Waylon Smolinski (Lachine – District 1), Jeff Blight (Bancroft – District 4), Ron Parks (Allenton – District 5), Jacob Faist (Pleasant Lake – District 7) and Matt Cary (Alma – At Large) for their service and dedication to the industry.

The Michigan Corn Growers Association (MCGA) is a grassroots organization of more than 1,200 grower members dedicated to increasing the profitability of corn production.  The MCGA is the only organization in Michigan that works solely on behalf of the state’s corn growers for pro agriculture legislation.
