MCGA: US-Japan Trade Agreement Good News for Agriculture
LANSING – The Michigan Corn Growers Association (MCGA) today welcomed the news of a trade agreement between the United States and Japan that will increase market access for American agriculture products in Japan.
MCGA President Matt Frostic made the following statement:
“Japan is an important market for American corn farmers – ranking number two for purchases of U.S. corn. We are strong advocates for an agreement with Japan, and this progress is good news for our industry. We’re awaiting the final details, but we’re optimistic that this deal with help grow our trading partnership with Japan and strengthen the position of Michigan’s corn farmers.”
The Michigan Corn Growers Association (MCGA) is a grassroots organization of grower members dedicated to increasing the profitability of corn production. The MCGA is the only organization in Michigan that works solely on behalf of the state’s corn growers for pro-agriculture legislation.
